The Barrington Club hosted the District 23 NAOP Finals this year and the results are in. The 15 January game now allows our winners to make their travel arrangements to Dallas for the Nationals.

Jill and Ed were the A Flight winners in 04 also, as were Kyle & Melissa for B Flight in 05, and they will be making repeat appearances in this event. We didn't get a chance to ask everyone else if they are first-timers or not. Whatever the experience level, this is quite an achievement to qualify for a national event. Congratulations to not only our winners but everyone who participated in this July through January marathon. Hopefully, everyone met some new people and made some new friends.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Roberta Gotfried & Jim Alstad who discovered a scoring mistake after most players had gone home. The correction moved them from 3rd to 5th place in B, which eliminated their hopes of playing in the Dallas NAOP game. This completely unselfish act shows how honest our players are and deserves our admiration. Roberta and Jim: Thanks for setting an example for all of us. You make us proud to be bridge players & we look forward to competing with you next time.
